This Privacy Policy explains what information Betzeil Hakodesh (“Betzeil Hakodesh”, “we”, “us”) collects when you use our website, betzeilhakodesh.com (the “Website”), and our text message program, Betzeil Hakodesh Alerts; how we use it; and the choices you have.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Contact form. When you write to us, we receive what you choose to send: your name (optional), an email address or phone number for our reply (optional), the subject, your message, and any pictures or PDF files you attach.
  • News by email. When you ask to get the news by email, we receive your email address and, if you give it, your name. The request may also be passed on to our own mailbox by email.
  • Text message sign-up. When you sign up for Betzeil Hakodesh Alerts on our sign-up page, we receive your mobile phone number and the categories of news you choose to receive. As a record of your consent we also keep the date and time you signed up, the exact consent wording you agreed to, the page you signed up on, your IP address, and your browser’s user agent (the line your browser sends that names its type and version).

Information collected automatically

  • Visit records. When you open a page of the Website, our server records the time, the page address, your IP address, the page that linked you to us (if your browser sends it), and your browser’s user agent. We use these records only to count visits and see which pages and posts are read. They are deleted automatically after 120 days.
  • Post counts. We count how many times each post is viewed, copied or shared, as daily totals that do not identify anyone.
  • Spam protection. To stop automated abuse of our forms, a temporary one-way code made from your IP address is kept in our server’s memory for about an hour.

Cookies and storage in your browser

  • We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics, and the Website does not set cookies for visitors. A cookie is used only to keep our site administrators signed in.
  • Your browser’s local storage keeps your own choices on your device: text size and display settings, which posts you have already seen and where you stopped reading, the audio player’s speed, shuffle, repeat and listening queue, and whether you turned on notifications for new posts. We do not store this information; you can clear it at any time in your browser’s settings.
  • If you turn on notifications for new posts, your browser shows them only while the Website is open. We do not use a push notification service and keep no notification subscription.

3. How we use information

  • To answer your messages and questions.
  • To send you the news by email, if you asked for it.
  • To send you the text messages you signed up for, to answer HELP requests, and to stop messages when you opt out.
  • To keep a record of your consent to receive text messages, as the law and the mobile carriers require.
  • To run, protect and improve the Website, and to prevent spam and abuse.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it.

4. How we share information

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Your mobile phone number, your text message (SMS) opt-in and your consent will not be shared with or sold to anyone for their marketing.

Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, excluding aggregators and providers of the text message services.

  • Service providers. A few companies help us run the Website and our programs: the provider that hosts our server and carries the Website’s traffic, our email provider, and, for text messages, our text message service provider and the aggregators and mobile carriers that deliver the messages to your phone. They receive only what they need to provide that service to us, and may not use it for their own marketing.
  • Legal reasons. We may disclose information if the law requires it (for example, a court order), or when needed to protect the safety of our visitors or the rights of Betzeil Hakodesh.

5. Text messages (SMS)

Betzeil Hakodesh Alerts sends news updates and alerts from Betzeil Hakodesh by text message to people who signed up on our sign-up page and checked the consent box. Consent is not a condition of any purchase.

  • Message frequency varies.
  • Message and data rates may apply.
  • Reply STOP to any message to cancel at any time. Reply HELP for help.
  • We use your mobile number only to send you the messages you signed up for and to help you.

The full terms of the program are in our SMS Terms & Conditions.

6. How long we keep information

  • Contact messages and email requests are kept until our administrators delete them. You can ask us to delete yours.
  • Text message sign-ups are kept while you are signed up. After you opt out we stop sending messages to your number; we may keep the record of your consent and opt-out for as long as needed to show that we followed it.
  • Visit records are deleted automatically after 120 days.
  • Our server makes a backup every day. Backup copies of the database are kept for about two weeks; backup copies of files, such as attachments sent with the contact form, can be kept longer.

7. How we protect information

The Website uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Messages, attached files and sign-ups are stored on our server and can be seen only by our authorized administrators, who sign in with their own accounts. No way of storing or sending information is completely secure, but we work to keep yours safe.

8. Children’s privacy

The Website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it. You must be at least 18 years old, or have the permission of a parent or guardian, to sign up for text messages.

9. Your choices

  • Text messages: reply STOP to any message, or contact us, and we will stop messages to your number.
  • Email: ask us at any time to stop sending you the news by email.
  • Your information: you can ask us what information we have about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, by writing to [email protected].
  • Your browser: you can clear the Website’s local storage and turn notifications off in your browser’s settings.

10. Other websites

The Website links to other services, such as Telegram, WhatsApp and Google Chat, and loads its fonts from Google Fonts (so your browser connects to Google, which receives your IP address). These services have their own privacy policies.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page with a new effective date.
